Leadership Team

True Heroes Racing is a non-profit organisation that requires a great deal of dedication and hard work to operate. We are proud to have a diverse team of individuals from different backgrounds driving us towards our goals.

founder & team principal

Phil Spencer

Phil founded True Heroes Racing in 2012, shortly after returning from his deployment in Afghanistan. After witnessing the struggles faced by soldiers who had sustained life altering injuries Phil was determined to do something to help. As a Warrant Officer in the Navy he leads the team while continuing his military duties. Not only is he a natural leader but he is also the creative force behind True Heroes Racing, constantly pushing the boundaries and inspiring the team to achieve more. Thanks to Phil’s vision and determination, True Heroes Racing remains the UK’s first and only motorcycle race team dedicated to supporting and empowering Wounded, Injured and Sick UK service personnel and Veterans.

operations manager

Lisette Taylor

With over two decades of experience in commercial sales, Lisette is a valuable asset to our team. Although she is currently employed full time outside of our organisation, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to support our relationships with clients of all sizes. In 2019, Lisette joined our team, alongside her husband, who is an Army Veteran. He faces daily challenges due to a rare neurological illness. This personal connection to our mission is reflected in the passion and dedication Lisette brings to her role. She not only makes a positive impact on our organisation but also on her husband’s well-being, making her an invaluable member of our team.
