True Heroes Racing double up for the 2025 ROKiT OFF BMW F900R Cup

After a successful opening day of the 2025 British Superbike Championship season, True Heroes Racing is proud to confirm its expansion for 2025 in the ROKiT OFF BMW F900R Cup. After joining the championship in 2024 with a single bike, they are fielding a new 2-rider line up for 2025 featuring British Army Veteran Leon Wilton and the addition of Royal Air Force (RAF) Serviceman Cpl Kenny Macleod.

Leon Wilton makes the move across from Ducati Supersport machinery after a challenging 2024 campaign with the team and is hoping to be a competitive force in the one-make series. He is joined by Kenny Macleod, who brings fresh energy to the team and a strong racing pedigree of his own as he steps up to National Level competition.
Cpl Kenny Macleod, currently serving full time in the Royal Air Force as an Aircraft Technician at RAF Lossiemouth, has been actively representing the RAF Motorsport Association for several years and is a leading light in the Inter-Services Motorcycle Racing Championships.

We’re really pleased to see Leon continue with us in 2025 and move to this new class. Hopefully, the challenges of 2024 are behind him and he will have a great season ahead in this highly competitive one-make class,” said Phil Spencer, True Heroes Racing Founder and Team Principal.

“Creating this new partnership with the RAF Motorsport Association provides an unprecedented opportunity for a serving member of the UK Armed Forces, while further strengthening our support for the whole of the UK Military. Alongside his full-time Military service, Kenny will be racing at the highest level in the UK and representing both us and the RAF on track, while also facilitating even more opportunities for the wider Military demographic our activities support. For me, it’s a perfect fit for the ethos of True Heroes Racing.”

True Heroes Racing remains the UK’s first and only motorcycle race team formed around Wounded, Injured and Sick UK Service personnel & Veterans and continues to lead the way in supporting recovery through competitive motorsport. Their 2025 two rider entry into the ROKiT OFF BMW F900R Cup underlines a growing commitment to inclusivity and competitive excellence within the British Superbike Championships. Further, it demonstrates their unwavering commitment to the wider Armed Forces community.

We extend a huge thank you to True Heroes Racing for making this opportunity possible,” said Group Captain Brian Watson, Chair of the RAF Motorsports Association. “Their support not only gives our rider the chance to compete at the top level, but also highlights the deep bond between motorsport and military service. It’s an honour to be part of a team that truly lives its values both on and off the track.”

True Heroes Racing changes tack from Italian Stallions to the Land of the Rising Sun!

After 10 seasons campaigning the Ducati brand with the Panigale in multiple classes, a new challenge awaits True Heroes Racing.

The 2025 season marks a return for True Heroes Racing, the unique team formed in 2012 to support Wounded, Injured and Sick UK Armed Forces personnel and Military Veterans, to the Pirelli National Superstock Championship.

Stalwarts of the support classes at the Bennetts British Superbike Championships (BSB), having had an ever-growing presence since breaking new ground after entering in 2013, they will be campaigning two Honda CBR1000RR-R SPs ridden by UK Military Veterans, Scott McFarlane and Charlie White, alongside an enhanced presence in the Rokit-Off BMW F900R Cup (more details to follow).  With the support of their long-standing multi franchise motorcycle dealer sponsors Laguna Motorcycles of Kent and official Honda UK satellite British Superbike team TAG Racing, the move to the Honda brand has taken place, with pre-season preparations and testing well underway.

True Heroes Racing Founder and Team Principle, Phil Spencer, said: “Our journey with the iconic Ducati brand came to a premature end after a change in Laguna’s commercial plans.  This provided True Heroes Racing and all our beneficiaries with a fresh, new challenge and marks our return to the ultra-competitive Pirelli National Superstock class.  It’s also great to be re-invigorating our relationship with Rob Winfield and his TAG Racing outfit.  Rob was instrumental back in 2012 when I first formed True Heroes Racing, playing a huge part in enabling us to put our first bike on the track for a disabled rider.  In fact, our first ever track day at Snetterton was run in TAG Racing colours, using a donated set of #41 Shaun Winfield’s Triumph fairings.  With the support we’ve received from all our sponsors, new and old, and the technical support we have already received from TAG Racing; we have put Scott, Charlie and the whole team on the very best footing to achieve our goals for this year and we can’t thank TAG Racing and all our sponsors enough for that.  Preparations are well underway ahead of the start of the BSB season at Oulton Park in early May, with both Scott and Charlie having had a few days of testing on their new bikes already, with more testing and further exciting news on the season ahead to follow.

Rob Winfield, TAG Racing Team Owner added: “As we continue to develop and push forward with our racing in both the Bennetts British Superbike and also the Pirelli National Superstock championships, it’s fantastic to see another Honda team join the grid and we are delighted to be able to play a part in seeing True Heroes Racing envelop a new marque in 2025.”
